6 solon pabor sa pagiging legal ng marijuana

MANILA, Philippines – Anim na kongresista ang sumuporta sa panukalang gawing legal ang marijuana para sa panggagamot.

Sina House Minority Leader Ronaldo Zamora,  Pasay City Rep. Emi Calixto-Rubiano, OFW partylist Rep. Roy Señeres, Marinduque Rep. Regina Reyes, Masbate Rep. Elisa Olga Kho, at Misamis Occidental Rep. Henry Oaminal ang mga nagbalangkas ng House Bill 4477.

Layunin ng Compassionate Use of Medical Cannabis Act na pangasiwaan ang pagbibigay ng tamang dami ng marijuana sa mga taong nangangailanan nito.

Ayon sa mga pag-aaral, nakakatulong ang sapat na dami ng marijuana sa mga taong may sakit na: cachexia or wasting syndrome; severe and chronic pain; severe nausea; seizures, including but not limited to those characteristic of epilepsy; or severe and persistent muscle spasms, including but not limited to those associated with multiple sclerosis.

Nakasaad din sa panukala ang pagbubuo ng Medical Cannabis Regulatory Authority sa ilalim ng Department of Health na silang magko-kontrol ng paggamit ng marijuana sa bansa.

Pamumunuan ito ng Director-General na itatalaga ng Pangulo ng Pilipinas mula sa ire-rekomendang mga doktor ng kalihim ng DOH.

Sinabi ni Rep. Rodolfo Albano III na libu-libong taon na ang nakararaan ng gamitin ng mga Tsino at Indian ang marijuana sa panggagamot.

"Modern research has confirmed the beneficial uses of cannabis in treating and alleviating the pain, nausea and other symptoms associated with a variety of debilitating medical conditions including cancer, multiple sclerosis, and HIV-AIDS as found by the National Institute of Medicine of the US in March 1999.”
