MANILA, Philippines - Muling umapela ang Kilusang Mayo Uno (KMU) sa mga mambabatas sa Kamara na bigyan daan ang pagpasa ng House Bill 375 o P125 Wage Hike Bill sa pagbubukas ng bagong sesyon ng Kongreso.
Binigyang diin ng KMU na napapanahon na maiÂpatupad ang P125 across-the-board legislated wage hike upang matugunan ng mamamayan ang tumataas ng kagutuman sa bansa.
Sinasabi ng Social Weather Stations survey na umaabot na sa 3.9 milyon ang bilang ng mga pamilya ang nagugutom sa unang kuarter ng taong ito.

Ayon kay Gerodias, bagamat may ulat na tumaas sa 7.8 percent ang Gross Domestic ProÂduct sa unang quarter ng 2013 ay hindi naman ito naÂngangahulugan ng dagdag na trabaho, maayos na pamumuhay ng mga Pilipino at dagdag na serbisyo publiko.
“We demand that our congressmen, especially those who ran for re-elections, keep true to their campaign promises and heed our workers’ demands for a P125 wage hike. It would be hypocritical for them to promise heaven in their campaign slogans, but give us hell after being elected,†dagdag ni Gerodias.
