MANILA, Philippines – Inutusan ng Department of Transportation and Communications ang Philippien Coast Guard ngayong Martes na makipagtulungan sa Board of Marine Inquiry upang mailunsad kaagad ang imbestigasyon sa paglubog ng roll-on-roll-off na M/V Lady of Mt. Carmel sa Masbate.
"Now that the Office of Civil Defense, the Coast Guard, and the Philippine Navy have already exhausted their search and rescue efforts and begun retrieval operations, our immediate objective is to determine what circumstances led to this unfortunate incident," pahayag ni DOTC Secretary Joseph Emilio Abaya.
Ani Abaya, ang makukuhang resulta sa imbestigasyon ay gagamitin upang makagawa ng patakaran upang maiwasan na maulit pa ang insidente.
"We want to find out what really happened and we will do whatever is necessary within the purview of the DOTC, to avoid such accidents in the future," sabi ni Abaya.
Naatasan ang BMI na imbestigahan ang insidente upang malaman ang sanhi nito at kung sino ang may pananagutan dito.
