Dagdag na 2 batalyon ng SAF OK sa Napolcom

MANILA, Philippines – Inaprubahan ng National Police Commission (Napolcom) ngayong Martes ang pagbubuo ng dalawa pang Special Action Battalions (SABs) sa ilalim ng Special Action Force (SAF) ng Philippine National Police (PNP).

Sinabi ni Napolcom Vice-Chairman at Executive Officer Eduardo Escueta na inaprubahan ng komisyon ang hiling ng PNP na bumuo ng dalawang bagong SAB upang lumakas ang SAF.

Sa pagkakabuo ng dalawang bagong SAB, mayroon nang pitong SAB ang SAF.

“After a review of the PNP’s proposal, the Commission approved the creation of two additional SABs to further enhance the operational capability and efficiency of the PNP SAF in order to effectively implement its mandate to support the Armed Forces of the Philippines and other PNP units in its active role on internal security operations,” sabi ni Escueta.

Ayon kay Escueta, pangunahing gagawin ng SAB ay ang scouting at surveillance operations sa mga teritoryo ng kalaban sa pamamagitan ng air, land at sea.

Kabilang din sa tungkulin ng SAB ang pagsasagawa ng internal security operations laban sa mga terorista at anti-criminality operations sa mga priority areas.

Kasama rin sa kanilang trabaho ang pagsuporta mga operasyon laban sa mga sindikato na isinasagawa ng ibang yunit ng PNP.

Sinabi ni Escueta na binigyan na ng kopya ng resolusyon sa pagbubuo ng dalawang bagong SAB ang Office of the President at ang Department of Budget and Management, kung saan manggagaling ang pondo para sa recruitment, training, operations at equipage ng SAF.
