MANILA, Philippines — Ah nagkaayos na pala ang mag-inang Mommy Divine and Sarah Geronimo.

Pero ayaw munang i-play up ng kampo ni Sarah ang tungkol dito.

Basta ang isang sure raw ay tuloy ang pagbibigay ng suporta ni Sarah sa kanyang mga magulang at hindi ito nakakalimot sa pamilya kahit kailan.

At ang isang sigurado raw, magiging active na ulit si Sarah sa kanyang career ngayong taon at maraming aabangan kay Sarah.

Shrek, eeksena para sa holiday!

Ang Shrek The Musical na nakatakdang magbukas ngayong taon sa Newport World Resorts ay naghahanap ng mga mahuhusay na performer upang bigyang-buhay ang mga minamahal na fairytale character na ito.

Gaganapin ang open call auditions sa Sabado, Marso 29, 2025, sa Meeting Room 1, 3F, Hilton Manila.

Ang pagpaparehistro ay mag-uumpisa ng 9 a.m. hanggang 12 p.m., na may mga audition mula 1 p.m. hanggang 5 p.m.

Sa mga interesado, kailangang maghanda sila 32 bars of a song from their favorite musical and bring a minus-one track for playback. Applicants must also submit their latest CV, a 3R-sized headshot and a full-body shot, and fill out a registration form.

Ang paborito ngang dambuhala ng mundo at ang kanyang mga tripulante ay maglalakad patungo sa pioneer integrated resort ng bansa, ang Newport World Resorts. Tamang-tama sa paparating na holiday, ang Full House Theater Company, ay dadalhin sila mula Oktubre hanggang Disyembre 2025 sa Newport Performing Arts Theater.

Ang Philippine production ng Shrek The Musical ay sa ilalim ng direksyon ni Michael Williams, assistant direction ni Cara Barredo, musical staging ni Dexter Santos, choreography ni Stephen Viñas, at music direction ni Rony Fortich. Ito ay batay sa kuwento at mga karakter mula sa aklat ni William Steig na Shrek pati na rin sa DreamWorks Animation movie na may parehong pangalan.

Itinatampok ang musika ni Jeanine Tesori na may libro at lyrics ni David Lindsay-Abaire, ang original musical play na ginawa sa Broadway ng DreamWorks Theatricals at Neal Street Productions noong 2008. Nakatanggap ito ng walong 2009 Tony Award nominations, kabilang ang Best Musical, at nanalo para sa Best Costume Design of a Musical.

The production is casting for Shrek, the grumpy but lovable ogre; Princess Fiona, the beautiful Princess from Far Far Away who transforms into an ogre when the sun sets; Donkey, the fast-talking, ever-loyal sidekick; and Lord Farquaad, the comically short, ruthless ruler of Duloc. Other roles include the fiery Dragon, the sassy Gingy, the animated puppet Pinocchio, and the fearsome Wolf. The ensemble will play various fairytale creatures, guards, knights, and more. Strong vocal ability is required for all roles, with select roles requiring dance skills.
