As he celebrates his 42 years in the entertainment industry, nagbalik-tanaw si Concert King Martin Nievera sa naging desisyon niya noon na lisanin ang kanyang successful singing career sa Pilipinas at tanggapin ang offer sa Las Vegas.

Sa mediacon for his upcoming concert na The King 4Ever ay naitanong namin kay Martin ang highest and lowest point sa kanyang career of 42 years.

Aniya, ang highest point daw ay hindi pa raw nagaganap.

“Highest is coming. It hasn’t’ happened yet. Feeling ko, pinaka-highest moment of my career, I would like to believe, hasn’t arrived yet. Kasi after that, wala na,” aniya.

Pero kung papipiliin siya ng isa sa high moments of his career, it would be his very first concert at the Folk Arts Theater in 1983.

As for the lowest, Martin recalled his big decision to perform for a brand-new show in Las Vegas in 2007.

“I told my ASAP Kapamilya that I’m gonna be leaving. I was all in with this Vegas thing until it exploded in my face,” aniya.

It turned out that the show was a scam at hindi raw nagbayad ang producer ng mga pinagkakautangan nito at napakaraming tao ang nagreklamo at gusto pa siyang idemanda.

“That was really a bad time. I just had a baby who was not even one month, 2 months old and moved in to a bigger house, I changed my car to a nicer car. I even put a pool in my house.

“I didn’t need any of these things, but I thought I was gonna be a big Las Vegas star, a millionaire, so I was spending money I didn’t have,” kwento niya.

“I came back to the Philippines with my tail between my legs and they accepted me back on ASAP. I didn’t have to say anything, I didn’t have to explain, I didn’t have to cry on TV, no one asked any questions. And now, I’m still here,” sey ni Martin.

And the rest, so they say is history. Up to this date, si Martin pa rin ang nag-iisang Concert King ng Pilipinas.

Bilang selebrasyon sa kanyang ika-42 years sa industriya, muling nagbabalik sa Araneta Coliseum si Martin sa kanyang big concert na The King 4Ever happening this Sept. 27, 2024, produced by Ogie Alcasid and Cacai Velaquez.
