Baka malosyang agad: Angelica hindi agad matanggap na magiging nanay na ng binata

Bagama’t nag-alangan daw at first si Angelica Panganiban na tanggapin ang offer ni Malou Santos, managing director ng Star Cinema, and Business Unit Head ng production behind the remake of one of ABS-CBN’s most-loved and well-followed series, Pangako Sa ‘Yo, on second thought, tinanggap na rin niya.

After all nga raw, all of the projects na kanyang ginawa under the guidance of Malou, kumbaga, lahat tagumpay sa takilya and had won for her either a nomination, if not an award (in an award-giving body). The last project of which was the movie, One More Try, which co-starred her with Angel Locsin, Zanjoe Marudo at Dingdong Dantes.

Hence for the first time, Angelica said, she is playing the role of someone matured. Yes, as Mom to Daniel Padilla in Pangako Sa ‘Yo.

She is assigned the role of Claudia Buenavista, (played by Jean Garcia in the original Pangako…), na mom to Jericho Rosales’ character in the series.

‘‘Pero, bongga ako rito, ha,’’ may himig pagmamalaking saad ni Angelica, ‘‘Aba, supposedly mayaman si Claudia sa Pangako…

‘‘Assigned the coveted role of Amor Powers (originally played naman by Eula Valdez) is Jodi (Sta Maria).

‘‘Mommy naman siya sa pelikula ni Kathryn (Bernardo).

Ang original role naman sa series was played by Kristine Hermosa.

Directing the new Pangako… is Rory Quintos.

Now both contract talents ng GMA-7, Eula and Jean are reunited in one of the Network’s ongoing series, The Half Sisters.

Well, expect the two na magkakaroon ng heated confrontation scene in The Half Sisters, tulad sa ginawa nila sa Pangako… noon. The Half Sisters also stars one of the icons in local showbiz, Gloria Romero, others younger stars in the cast are Barbie Forteza, Thea Tolentino, Andre Paras, Derrick Monasterio at Ryan Eigenmann.

By the way, guess what Andre, Derrick and R­yan have in common?

Well, they are all offspring of showbiz royalties.

Andre’s Dad is of course, former cager now topnotch comedian, Benjie Paras. Mommy naman ni Derrick ang dating child star na si Tina Monasterio.

Ang parents naman ni Ryan ay sina Michael de Mesa at Gina Alajar, foremost actress and movie and TV director.

Angelica ayaw mag-panic sa pagpapakasal

Of Angelica, at 28, she agrees, she’s now of the marrying age.

Although she agrees, there is a possibility as marriage naman, na alukin din siya ng kasal ng aktor pero Angelica reveals she’s actually not in a hurry.

‘‘If I were siguro in my 30s na,’’ aniya, ‘‘that’s when I will panic na dapat mag-asawa na ako.

‘‘Besides, I am never having it so good, where my career is concerned, as besides Pangako…, I have a movie, That Thing Called Tadhana, earmarked for showing, February 4,” sabi niya.

That Thing… directed by Antoinette Jadaone who also directed Beauty In A Bottle, co-stars her for the first time, JM de Guzman.

An entry in the Cinema One Originals Film Festival, the movie won for her a best actress trophy. ‘‘Naipalabas kasi ang pelikula sa nabanggit na filmfest last November,’’ direk Antoinette cleared. ‘‘But first time on February 4 na isu-showing ito sa mga sinehan sa buong bansa.”
