Dennis hindi nakaramdam ng pagbabago ng trato ni Julia

Proud na proud si Dennis Padilla with whatever achievement na mayroon ang anak niyang si Julia Barretto in the short period of time na nasa showbiz siya.

Only 16 years old, Julia is the middle child in a brood of three nina Dennis and his estranged wife Marjorie Barretto. She started in showbiz playing roles bilang nakababatang si Claudine Barretto, the youngest sister sa kanilang magkakapatid.

A Star Magic talent, the “powers” behind the ABS-CBN’s discovery and talent agency takes to Julia as one of the most promising in their stable of stars.

No wonder that in Mirabella, Dreamscape, headed by the business unit head Deo Edrinal, in its first series for this year, had her play the title role.

Fellow ABS-CBN talents, Enrique Gil and Sam Concepcion, play her leading men.

“Mabait na bata si Julia,” said Dennis of her second daughter. “Kahit hiwalay kami ng mommy niya, hindi siya at ang dalawa pa niyang kapatid nagbago ng pagtingin sa akin.

“One of these days, I will ask her to treat me. Para makapag-usap kami. Para masabi ko sa kanyang pauli-ulit how proud I am of her. And her two siblings.

“Pati na si Dani (Marjorie’s daughter by Kier Legaspi), my stepdaughter,” pahayag ni Dennis.

Himself busy with TV and film assignments, Dennis plays Kim Chiu’s dad in Star Cinema’s first salvo for 2014, Bride for Rent.

The film directed by Mae Czarina Cruz, also stars Xian Lim, Matt Evans, Martin del Rosario, Empoy Marquez, and Pilita Corrales.

Now with a new partner himself (may isa na silang anak), Dennis hopes na, tulad ni Julia, makatanggap din siya ng higit pang marami at magagandang projects.

Matt walang regrets kahit nagbago ang future

Asked too, kung anong wishes niya for 2014, Matt Evans, during the presscon for Bride for Rent, said he wants to keep busy himself, too.

Matt, as we all know, is now a family man, too. He has a wife and child.

A product of Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) Teen Edition, Matt was given the break, so to speak, by ABS-CBN, when he was given the title role in Pedro Penduko.

But he seems not to have regrets if he now is relegated to supporting roles. For him, what is important, ay may trabaho siyang palagi.

Matt last appeared in the series Muling Buksan ang Puso.

Empoy nagpapasalamat sa Kapamilya

Empoy Marquez said happy siya na muling gumawa ng project sa ABS-CBN at Star Cinema. He, too, is in the cast of Bride for Rent.

Lately, Empoy has been identified with TV5 bilang one of the busiest talents ng network.

“But, actually, produkto ako ng ABS-CBN. Dito ako nagsimula nang manalo ako, ’di man first place, sa isang reality contest,” nakangising sabi ni Empoy.

“Iyon nga lang, mas nabigyan ako ng magandang break sa TV5. Na ipinagpapasalamat ko nang labis. I’m free, though, to do film projects for Star Cinema. Kaya heto at nasa Bride for Rent nga ako. Kaya salamat. Salamat.”
