Sayang naman kung totohanin ni Richard Gutierrez ang pamamahinga muna, specifically sa television, because his contract with GMA 7 ay nagtapos na noong June 10 (with GMA Films he still has a two-picture contract, he said). He would take up filmmaking instead. Whether here or abroad, ’di binanggit ni Richard sa presscon of his soon to be released flick with Marian Rivera, My Lady Boss, produksiyon ng GMA Films at Regal Entertainment, Inc. In fairness to him, nag-rate ang last series niyang Love & Lies with Michelle Madrigal at Bela Padilla sa GMA 7.

Richard keeps his fingers crossed na kikita ang My Lady Boss despite the number of postponements na nangyari sa exact date ng playdate nito.

We agree with Richard that the current trailer ng My Lady Boss is much better than the previous one presented during a previous presscon. Kahit pa nagkaroon ng ’di pagkakaunawaang namagitan kina Mother Lily Monteverde at Marian na kung sabagay ay wala namang kinalaman sa My Lady Boss but of a new offer ng Regal of a project meant sana for the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) na thank God at na-resolve sa presscon ng My Lady Boss.

Bernard happy sa pagiging daddy

Bernard Palanca, who just arrived from the US after a long break kumbaga, is glad that for his comeback movie Star Cinema decided to have him included in the cast of Four Sisters and a Wedding, a kick-off presentation ng film firm for its 20th anniversary.

His role, however, is not a full-length one because the story of Four Sisters..., centers on the sisters played by Bea Alonzo, Toni Gonzaga, Shaina Magdayao, Angel Locsin, and their only and youngest brother Enchong Dee. Ganun man, happy si Bernard since his role allowed him na makapareha si Angel who, he discovers, is so dedicated to her craft kaya her energy and enthusiasm somehow rubbed on him.

‘‘When director Cathy (Garcia-Molina) calls the two of us to face the camera nandun ang kakaibang confidence ni Angel. Obviously dahil prepared siya for the scene na kukunan.

‘‘During rehearsals, kapag may pagbabagong ini-inject halimbawa si Direk Cathy, ang dali niyang pu­mik-ap. And neither is she the type of performer who requests her director na ulitin ang take if she feels ’di satisfactory ang kanyang performance for a particular scene.

‘‘Luckily din, Direk Cathy is the type of director na ’di lang nakikinig sa suggestion o comment ng kanyang actor, sinusunod pa niya ang suggestion ng mga ito kapag alam niyang kailangan,’’ pahayag ni Bernard.

On his personal life, Boy Abunda in his interview with Bernard na kanyang segment sa newscast, Bandila, chose not to ask him the current status of his relationship with former wife Meryll Soriano. But he is a happy father daw to his son (referring to his anak kay Meryll).

He mentioned, likewise, his mom, whose name escapes us but we know is a sister to popular showbiz personalities Maritess and Tina Revilla.

Bernard’s lolo is the late Armando Goyena, former matinee idol.

Sayang at ’di rin nakumusta ni Boy kay Bernard ang kanyang younger bro­ther na si Mico Palanca, na minsan ding naging artista at na-link pa kay Bea Alonzo.

Bea now, as we all know, is happily in love with Zanjoe Marudo.
