Paglabag Sa health protocols sa kampanya, election offense na

MANILA, Philippines — Ang paglabag sa health and safety protocol sa gitna ng COVID-19 sa darating na eleksyon ay ikokonsi­derang offense.

Ito ang nilinaw ng Commission on Elections (Comelec) batay sa ­ilalim ng Comelec Resolution 10730, nakasaad ang mga sumusunod na dapat sundin para sa araw ng Halalan: Pagsusuot ng face mask at face shield; Isang metrong physical distancing;paghuhugas ng kamay; at maayos na ‘cough and sneezing etiquette’.

“Any violation of Fair Elections Act and these Rules shall constitute an election offense punishable under the first and second paragraph of Section 264 of the Omnibus Election Code and other pertinent laws, rules and regulations, whenever applicable,” saad pa sa resolusyon.

Maaari ring patawan ang lalabag ng disku­walipikasyon na hu­mawak ng anumang pampublikong tanggapan at pagbabawalan na makaboto. Ang isang political party naman ay papatawan ng multa na hindi bababa sa P10,000 kapag natagpuang guilty ang kanilang mga opis­yales.

Mag-uumpisa ang ‘campaign period’ sa nasyunal na posisyon mula Pebrero 8, 2022 hanggang Mayo 7, 2022.
