Pinoy bets humataw ng 50 golds sa Bangkok

MANILA, Philippines — Umuwi ang Swim League Philippines (SLP) bitbit ang 50 ginto, 60 pilak at 65 tansong medalya para sa overall champion­ship ng Asian Open School Invitational (AOSI) Aquatics Championships na ginanap sa Assumption University Aquatic Center (ABAC) Suvarnabhumi Campus sa Bangkok, Thailand.

Bumandera sa ratsada ng SLP ang Mojdeh bro­thers na sina Mikhael Jasper ‘Mikee’ at Behrouz Mohammad ‘Madi’ na parehong pambato ng Immaculate Heart of Mary College-Paranaque.

Nakalikom si Mikhael Jasper ng kabuuang wa­long medalya mula sa tatlong ginto at limang tanso sa boys’ 8-year class, habang umani si Behrouz Mohammad ng apat na medalya — isang ginto, isang pilak at dalawang tanso — sa boys’ 12-13.

“We are so proud of these young swimmers who represented our country well in this three-day competition. Bringing ho­nors to our country is such an amazing experience for each of them. We will continue this program to further develop their skills be at par with some of the world’s best swimmers in the future,” sabi ni PH BEST team manager Joan Mojdeh.

Maningning din ang kampanya nina SLP standouts Sophie Rose Garra, Kevin Arguzon, Alarie Somuelo at Aishel Cid Evengelista na nakasungkit ng mga ginto.

Humakot si Garra ng siyam na medalya mula sa anim na ginto at tatlong pilak sa girls’ 10-11 cate­go­ry at nanguna si Arguzon sa boys’ 16-17 tangan ang limang ginto, dalawang pilak at isang tanso.

Nakasikwat din ng li­mang ginto at apat na pi­lak si Somuelo sa girls’ 18-over at nagbulsa si Evan­ge­lista ng tatlong ginto, isang pilak at tatlong tanso sa boys’ 12-13.

Pumangalawa lamang ang host Thailand na may 33 ginto, 12 pilak at 17 tanso.
