Almadro bagong volleyball coach ng Ateneo Lady Eagles

MANILA, Philippines — Pormal nang itinalaga ng Ateneo de Manila University si Oliver Almadro bilang bagong head coach ng women’s volleyball team para sa UAAP Season 81 na magsisimula sa Setyembre.

Papalitan ni Almadro si Thai mentor Tai Bundit na siyang nagbigay ng back-to-back titles sa Lady Eagles noong Season 76 at 77.

“With his strong passion for the sport, and the breath of his experience in forming and mentoring the young, and an undying commitment to our spirit of magic, Coach Oliver is  favorably our man to lead our Lady Eagles to greater heights,” wika ni Ateneo president Father Jett Villarin SJ sa statement.

Maganda ang rekord ni Almadro.

Tinulungan nito ang Blue Eagles na makuha ang tatlong UAAP titles kaya’t umaasa ang pamunuan ng Ateneo na madadala nito sa Lady Eagles ang kanyang championship experience.

Magiging head coach naman ng men’s team si Timmy Sto. Tomas na isa sa mga assistant coaches ni Almadro sa Blue Eagles.

“Having been with the AMVT for the longest time, there is no doubt that Coach Timmy is more than capable of continuing the team’s legacy of Ateneo athleticism,” dagdag ni Villarin.
