Kaitlin isusunod ang Asian Games

KUALA LUMPUR – Matapos ang kanyang produktibong kampanya sa 29th Southeast Asian Games, pagtutuunan naman ni gymnast Kaitlin de Guzman ang Asian Games.

Sinabi ng 17-gulang na si De Guzman na hindi siya makukuntento sa kanyang panalo sa SEA Games bagkus ay lalo pang magsisikap para naman sa 18th Asian Games sa Jakarta sa susunod na taon.

Sa Asian Artistic Gymnastics Championship sa Bangkok noong May, ang kanyang unang international competition, nagpamalas siya ng Level 10 routines para sa magandang pagtatapos sa likod ng China, Japan at South Korea para makapasok sa national team.

Naging puhunan niya ito sa SEA Games kung saan nanalo siya ng gold sa uneven bars, silver sa floor exercise at bronze medal sa balance beam.

“I was told that I will compete in the Asian Games, so I’m focused on that goal,” sabi ni De Guzman. “I had good performance against countries like Japan, China and Korea in the Asian competition last May. I will work hard to achieve that goal.”

Ayon sa kanyang ina na si Chiang Mai SEA Games gold medalist Cintamoni Dela Cruz, uuwi muna sila sa United States para patingnan ang balakang ni De Guzman bago bumalik sa training sa Metroflex Gymnastics sa Dallas.
