TORONTO - Hindi na kailangang maghintay nang matagal ni Cleveland forward Kevin Love para subukan ang kanyang na-injured na balikat sa pagbabalik niya sa aksyon.
“First play, actually,’’ sabi ni Love. “That was a good thing and a bad thing. It’s been tested a number of times in practice, I keep working on the strength. I’m sure there’ll be a few scares here and there but that’s kind of mentally just getting over the hump a little bit. I feel great.’’
Tumapos si Love na may 6 points at 4 rebounds sa una niyang laro matapos noong opening round ng nakaraang playoffs.
Ngunit wala pa ring nakukuhang panalo ang Cavaliers sa preseason matapos ang 81-87 pagyukod sa Toronto Raptors.
“It’s the best I’ve felt in a long time,’’ wika ni Love. “When the regular season starts it’s a whole different grind, but it’s a good starting point, for sure.’’
Sinabi naman ni Cleveland coach David Blatt na siya ay sobrang nasiyahan sa 13 minutong inilaro ni Love. “I thought he looked great. I’m not surprised. He’s ready to play and we’re happy to have him back, believe me,” aniya.
Sinabi ni Blatt na muling maglalaro si Love sa pagkumpleto ng Cavaliers ng kanilang preseason schedule sa Cleveland laban sa Dallas Mavericks sa Lunes.
“Tomorrow I assume that I’ll play more,’’ wika ni Love.
Hindi pinaglaro ni Blatt sina LeBron James at Richard Jefferson para sa Cavaliers (0-6).
Umiskor si Anthony Bennett ng 11 points para sa Raptors.
Sa hindi pa pagpirma ng kontrata ni forward Tristan Thompson at pagrekober ni point guard Kyrie Irving sa left knee injury na nalasap nito sa Game 1 ng nakaraang NBA Finals laban sa Golden State Warriors, umaasa ang Cavaliers sa produksyon ni Love.
