NEW YORK -- Hindi nagalit si head coach Mike Woodson nang ialok ng New York Knicks ang kanyang trabaho kay Phil Jackson.
Alam niya ang kukuhaning coach ni Jackson para magpatakbo ng triangle offense.
“Could I teach it? Absolutely I could teach it,’’ sabi ni Woodson. “But it’d be even better if he’d help me teach it. That would be great. Who would be better in teaching the triangle than Phil Jackson?’’
Ito ang unang pahayag ni Woodson matapos ang news conference ng Knicks noong Martes kung saan niya nalaman na orihinal na nakipag-usap si Madison Square Garden chairman James Dolan kay Jackson noong Disyembre para hawakan ang New York.
Hindi interesado si Jackson sa nasabing trabaho, ngunit kinuha pa rin siya ng Knicks bilang team president.
“Mr. Dolan, this is his team, he has that right to talk to anyone about a coaching position,’’ ani Woodson. “Again, I mean, he said it, it happened obviously. But again, I’m the coach of the Knicks right now and I still have a job to do.’’
Sinabi ni Jackson na hindi niya ipipilit ang triangle offense na kanyang ginamit para sa kanyang NBA-record na 11 title.
