Vote-buying sa POC elections pag-uusapan
MANILA, Philippines - Inaasahang tatalakayin ang insidente ng vote-buying na nangyari sa nakaraang eleksyon ng Phi-lippine Olympic Committee sa Ethics Committee na pinamumunuan ni IOC representative Frank Elizalde.
Ngunit ayon sa isang source, ang pinakamataas na parusang maipapataw sa personalidad na sangkot dito ay sermon lamang base sa Constitution and By-Laws.
Ang nasabing tao naman ay maaaring maparusahan sa IOC at sa kinabibilangan nitong International Federation.
“The IOC process will require the case to be filed to the POC president who will then refer the matter to the Ethics Committee for investigation and conclusion,” wika ng source. “We understand a case will definitely be filed as this simply cannot be swept under the rug. There was a clear instance of attempted vote-buying and the Comelec has possession of an envelope that contains P45,000 in cash and a flyer listing a set of candidates. The envelope was surrendered by Raymund Reyes.”
Inabutan si Reyes, ang secretary-general ng Phi-lippine Karatedo Federation, ng envelope bagamat kilala siya bilang katropa ni first vice presidential candidate Joey Romasanta.
