Carmina at BB magsasama sa Pelikula!

Guess who we bumped into sa premiere showing ng Sa Ngalan ng Ama, Ina at Mga Anak Tuesday sa Cinema 3, Gateway Mall, Quezon City?

BB Gandanghari, that’s who.

BB, we noticed, has slimmed down a lot. All, in preparation, ‘‘she’’ said, of ‘‘her’’ upcoming film with ‘‘her’’ utol Robin Padilla.

‘‘Eh kelan nga ba ’yan sisimulan?’’ tanong namin kay BB.

‘‘Malapit na,’’ aniya. ‘‘Hinihintay lang ang sagot ni Carmina.”

Carmina who?

Carmina Villaroel, to whom they are offering the film’s female lead role.

No need to tell everyone who Carmina was in BB’s life before.

Will Carmina bite the offer?

Let’s wait and see.

The film, na wala pang tiyak na titulo, like Sa Ngalan ng Ama… will be produced by Robin’s own film firm, RCP Productions. ’Di rin tiyak kung sino ang magdidirek.

Wala pa ring tiyak na kuwento ang pelikula. Bagama’t Robin once said may kinalaman ito tungkol sa ‘‘sexuality.’’

Of Sa Ngalan ng Ama… umaapaw sa rami ng tao ang mga nag-attend ng premiere night.

There were, after all, aside from Robin and wife Mariel Rodriguez, the other members of the Padilla clan namely Daniel Padilla, Rommel Padilla and his two other sons Matt and RJ, Robin’s daughter Kylie, who was with Ali, her only brother, Dennis Padilla, and Bela Padilla who came with boyfriend Neil Arce (producer of Robin and Bela’s award-winning filmfest entry 10,000 Hours). Robin’s mother, Eva Cariño, and his brother Royette came, too.

Other guests we spotted were some executives and producers of teleseryes and ABS-CBN’s former president Freddie Garcia, Mikael Daez, EJ Falcon, Karla Estrada, healing priest Father Joey Faller, na imbitado pala ng lola ni Mariel, former LVN star May Villarica, and who came with her lolo.

Naka-lights off na nang dumating si Kathryn Bernado, who seated herself between Daniel and Robin.

Obvious na ‘‘tanggap” na talaga ng pamilya Padilla si Kathryn bilang future… ni Daniel.

Take it from us, Sa Ngalan ng Ama… is worth watching. It’s not totally an action movie kasi may mga comic moment at drama ito. Kaya entertaining.

Robin is back to his old form as an action star. Ganun pa man ay marami siyang mga eksena na as Ongkoy, the patriarch of a big family and leader of a kilusan whose objective ay ang makatulong sa paglikha ng kapayapaan sa kanilang bayan, masasabing he now is an actor in the true sense of the word.

Mariel, as Robin’s wife in the movie, too has, kumbaga, her moments also. But what probably will shock moviegoers and at the same time not forget her scene when she walked from her bed to Robin na hubo’t hubad.

Iyon nga lang, nakatalikod siya.

As publicized, Daniel proves that given the chance, he can be an effective action star like his Tito Robin. Like his half-brothers Matt and RJ din, kung makahawak siya ng baril at magpa-putok nito, hindi mo iisiping it is his first try doing such a role.

But the one among the Padillas in the movie who, for us, proved a revelation, was Kylie, Robin’s second daughter (the elder one is Queenie) by first wife Liezl Sicangco.

Papalakpakan mo siya in her role na isang tila amazona, who finally met her death, ironically, sa isang rebeldeng she thought was kanyang ‘‘kakampi.’’

She proved na pagharap sa kamatayan, kahit ang isang matapang na babae ay nakakaramdam din ng takot at lumuluha.

Our congratulations, too, to Direk John Villarin, na siyang namahala ng pelikula, for a job well done.
