MANILA, Philippines — A large piece of metal with foreign markings has been found along the coast of Lian, Batangas, according to the Philippine Coast Guard.

In a post on social media, the PCG station in Batangas said the object was found by villagers along the shore of Barangay Luyahan on Monday.

Based on inspection, the metal measures approximately 20 feet long and 10.5 feet wide, and appeared to be aluminum.

Initial assessment using available translation tools indicated that the markings read as “Antenna Transmission Window 5.”

The PCG has yet to confirm the origin and nature of the debris, which was placed under the agency’s custody for documentation and further assessment.

The PCG said it is coordinating with appropriate authorities to determine the source and significance of the object.
