Amit, Centeno goodbye na sa World 9-Ball
MANILA, Philippines — Tuluyan nang namaalam sa kontensiyon sina world champions Chezka Centeno at Rubilen Amit sa WPA World Women’s 9-Ball Championship na ginaganap sa Jacksonville, Florida.
Lumasap ang reigning Women’s World 10-Ball Championship titlist na si Centeno ng dikdikang 1-3 kabiguan sa kamay ni Kristina Tkach ng Russia sa quarterfinal round.
Maganda ang simula ni Centeno na nagtala ng 4-0 panalo sa first set bago rumatsada si Tkach nang maitala nito ang 4–3, 4–3 at 4–1 sa tatlong sunod na sets para payukuin ang Pinay cue master.
“My fight for the World 9-Ball Championship title ends here—for now. I gave it my best this tournament, and overall, I felt good about how I was playing, especially considering I only switched to a new playing cue just last month,” ani Centeno sa kanyang post sa social media.
“I would have loved to advance to the semifinals, but that’s just pool. One moment you’re shooting great, and the next, things can change. There is still a lot of work to be done, and I know I need to dedicate more time to fully mastering my new cue,” dagdag ni Centeno.
Tuluyan namang nahubaran ng korona si Amit na umani ng 0-3 desisyon sa kamay ni Liu Shasha ng China.
Nairehistro ni Liu ang 4–3, 4–2 at 4–0 panalo para makumpleto ang sweep.
