MANILA, Philippines — Kinumpleto ng PhilCycling national road team ang isang five-day training camp sa Zambales bilang preparasyon sa 2024 Asian Cycling Confederation (ACC) Championships for Road sa Hunyo sa Kazakhstan.

Sinabi ni Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) at PhilCycling president Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino na napakahalaga ng nasabing training camp para sa mga national riders.

“The training camp’s important not only to keep the athletes in harness for the Asian championships but for them to bond them together further as a national team,” ani Tolentino.

Kabuuang 35 cyclists ang sumabak sa training camp na pinamahalaan ni Zambales Governor Hermogenes Ebdane at sinuportahan ni Zambales 2nd District Rep. Doris “Nanay Bing” Maniquiz sa Balin Sambali sa Iba at sa Camp Kainomayan sa Botolan.

Nakatakda ang ACC Championships for Road sa Hunyo 5 hanggang 12 sa Almaty, Kazakhstan.

Ang biyahe ng PhilCycling team ay suportado ng POC at ng Philippine Sports Commission.

Igagawad din ng ACC kay Tolentino ang 2024 Merit Award para sa kanyang malaking kontribus­yon sa pagyabong ng cycling sa Asya.

Ang national road cycling team ay binubuo ng mga riders mula sa Philippine Navy-Standard Insurance, 7-Eleven-Cliqq by Roadbike Philippines, Excellent, D’Reyna at Go-for-Gold.

Ginagabayan sila ni head coach Reinhard Gorantes.
