Pangulong Marcos todo-suporta sa Philippine volleyball

MANILA, Philippines —  Solidong suporta ang ibinigay ng Malacanang para sa limang major international volleyball competitions na pamamahalaan ng Pilipinas ngayong taon.

Una rito ang Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) Women’s Challenge Cup na hahataw sa Mayo 22-29 sa Rizal Memorial Coliseum sa Vito Cruz, Manila.

Sa Memorandum Circular 49 na may petsang Mayo 13 at pirmado ni Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, inutusan ni President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. ang “all government agencies and instrumentalities, including government-owned or controlled corporations, are hereby directed, and all local government units are encouraged, to extend full support to the Philippine hos­ting of volleyball and beach volleyball events in 2024.”

Bukod sa AVC Women’s Challenge Cup, idaraos din ng National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) ang Volleyball Nations League (VNL) Men’s Week Three sa Hunyo 18-23 sa SM Mall of Asia Arena, ang Volleyball World Challenger Cup sa Hulyo 4-7 sa Ninoy Aquino Stadium, ang Southeast Asia Volleyball League for Men and Women sa Agosto 13-25 sa City of Santa Rosa Sports Complex at ang Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour Challenge sa Nobyembre 28 hangang Disyembre 1 sa Nuvali Sand Courts by Ayala Land sa Santa Rosa.

“We are grateful to President Marcos Jr. and to Executive Secretary Bersamin for their support, which the PNVF believes would help further elevate Philippine volleyball to world-class level,” ani PNVF head Ramon “Tats” Suzara.

Kasama ng Alas Pilipinas Women sa Pool A ng AVC Women’s Challenge Cup ang Indonesia, Chinese-Taipei, Australia at Iran at nasa Pool B ang nagdedepensang Vietnam, India, Singapore, Hong Kong at Kazakhstan.
