PSI election sa Hunyo 8

MANILA, Philippines — Napaaga ng isang linggo ang pagdaraos ng national congress at eleksyon ng mga miyembro ng board of trustees ng Philippine Swimming Inc. (PSI).

Itinakda sa Hunyo 8 sa East Ocean Palace Restaurant sa Parañaque City ang nasabing dalawang aktibidad na unang iniskedyul  sa Hunyo 15.

“The regional representatives agreed to move the exer­cise to an earlier date—and it will be done face-to-face,” sabi ni Philippine Olympic Committee (POC)-designated electoral committee member Atty. Wharton Chan matapos ang isang hybrid meeting.

Ang eleksyon para sa mga bagong opisyales ng PSI ay ipinag-utos ng World Aquatics at inaasahang dadaluhan ng mga regional representatives at nominees ng PSI.

Ang POC-designated electoral committee ay pinamumunuan ni POC secretary-general Atty. Edwin Gastanes kasama ang mga miyembrong sina Atty. Avelino Sumagui at Atty. Marcus Antonius Andaya.

Ang mga iluluklok ay ang 10 miyembro ng board of trustees base sa geographical sector at isang miyembro mula sa kinatawan ng diving, open water swimming, water polo at synchronized (artistic) swimming para sa kabuuang 11 trustees.

Nasasakop ng geographical sector ang tig-dalawa mula sa Area 1 (National Capital Region), Area 2 (Regions 1, 2, 3 at Cordillera Autonomous Region), Area 3 (Regions 4-A, 4-B at 5), Area 4 (Regions 6, 7 at 8) at Area 5 (Regions 9, 10, 11, 12, CARAGA Region at Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao).
