MANILA, Philippines — Sapul nang ipatupad ang Enhanced Community Quarantine sa Luzon bunga ng coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic noong Marso 16 ay hindi na nakauwi sa kanyang pamilya si Mar Villahermosa, nag­laro para sa Bacolod-Master Sardines noong 2019-20 Chooks-to-Go MPBL Lakan Season.

Ito ay dahil ginagampanan ng six-foot scorer ang kanyang papel bilang Private First Class sa Philippine Army.

“Thank God sa technology, I can communicate with my wife and daughter through messaging apps, kasi since day one ng ECQ, wala na talaga akong uwian,” sabi ni Villahermosa na sumapi sa Army bilang isang skilled personnel noong 2016.

Tumutulong si Villahermosa sa pamamahagi ng relief goods sa mga komunidad na apektado ng (COVID-19) pandemic.

Bilang isang frontliner ay dalawang buwan nang pansamantalang naninirahan si Villahermosa sa Special Services Centre sa Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.

“It feels so good that I’ve got to serve my country in this trying time. Lalo na yung times na namamahagi kami ng relief goods,” ani Villahermosa na nagtala ng average na 8.0 points sa 16 games sa nakalipas na MPBL season.
