Philippine flag itinaas na sa Athletes Village

CAPAS, Tarlac, Philippines — Pinamunuan ng Pilipinas ang 10 pang miyembro ng Southeast Asian Games para sa flag-raising ceremonies kahapon ng umaga sa Athletes Village dito sa New Clark City.

Si Team Philippines Deputy Chef De Mission Stephen Fernandez ang kumatawan kay Chef De Mission at Philippine Sports Commission chairman William ‘Butch’ Ramirez sa nasabing seremonya.

“It was a very simple program with the either the chief of mission or deputy chief of mission leading the respective delegations,” sabi ni Fernandez.

Ang mga delegado ay tinanggap ni Athletes Village Mayor Arrey Perez, ang Bases Conversion Development Authority vice president for Business Development.

Nakasama ng Pilipinas sa flag-raising ceremonies ang mga kinatawan ng Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, Timor Leste at Vietnam.

“There was an exchange of tokens while Perez gave an inspirational talk, reminding everyone of maintaining the spirit of fair play and sportsmanship when the actual competition begins and urging everyone in making the SEA Games a success,” ani Fernandez.

Nasa flag-raising rites din ang ilang miyembro ng Philippine national arnis team na nakatira sa Athletes Village at mga miyembro ng medical staff.
