Sina reigning International Boxing Federation (IBF) super flyweight champion Jerwin Ancajas, World Boxing Organization (WBO) counterpart Donnie Nietes, World Artistic Gymnastics Championships bronze medallist Carlos Yulo at ang Philippine Para Chess Team kasama ang mga Asian Para Games winners ay bahagi ng 23 major awardees na kikila­lanin ng pinakamatandang sportwriting fraternity sa bansa sa special event na inihahandog ng MILO, Cignal TV at Philippine Sports Commission (PSC).

MANILA, Philippines — Pamumunuan ng dalawang world champions, isang sumisikat na gymnast at mga gold medal winners noong 2018 Asian Para Games ang listahan ng mga Major Awardees na pararangalan sa SMC-PSA (Philippine Sportswri­ters Association) Annual Awards Night sa Pebrero 26 sa Manila Hotel.

Sina reigning International Boxing Federation (IBF) super flyweight champion Jerwin Ancajas, World Boxing Organization (WBO) counterpart Donnie Nietes, World Artistic Gymnastics Championships bronze medallist Carlos Yulo at ang Philippine Para Chess Team kasama ang mga Asian Para Games winners ay bahagi ng 23 major awardees na kikila­lanin ng pinakamatandang sportwriting fraternity sa bansa sa special event na inihahandog ng MILO, Cignal TV at Philippine Sports Commission (PSC).

Matagumpay na naidepensa ni Ancajas ng tatlong beses ang kanyang IBF 115-lb title noong nakaraang taon habang nakamit ni Nietes ang WBO belt sa bisperas ng Bagong Taon sa Japan.

Si Yulo naman ang na­ging unang Filipino at Southeast Asian male gymnast na nanalo ng medalya sa world meet  samantalang huma­kot ang Philippine Para Team ng 10 golds sa Asian Para Games sa Indonesia.

Sina para swimmer Ernie Gawilan, Arthus Bucay (para cycling), Kim Ian Chi (para bowling), Sander Severino (para chess) at ang Para Chess Team (Standard P1 men, Standard B2-B3 men at Rapid B-1men ang mga miyembro ng national team na nagtala ng nasabing best finish ng bansa sa quadrennial meet.

Ang iba pang tatanggap ng Major Awards sa event na suportado ng Philippine Basketball Association (PBA), Rain or Shine, ICTSI, NorthPort, SM Prime Holdings at Chooks To Go ay sina Thirdy Ravena (amateur basketball), San Miguel Beer (pro basketball), Meggie Ochoa (jiu-jitsu), Christian Tio (kiteboarding), El Joshua Carino (cycling), Arnel Mandal (wushu) at ang tambalan nina Jannery Millet at Milo Rivera (motorsports).

Ang listahan ay kukumpletuhin ng Team Manila at Tanauan Little League (softball), Philippine dragon boat team at ni O’Neal Cortez (Jockey of the Year) at Sepfourteen (Horse of the Year).
