9 national record giniba ni Garcia sa PN Games

DUMAGUETE, Philippines --Habang magaang na tinalo nina two-time Southeast Asian Games gold medalist Margarito Angana, Jr. ng Zamboanga City at Jason Balabal ng Ifugao ang kanilang mga karibal sa wrestling event, siyam na national records naman ang sinira ni weightlifter Jeffrey Garcia ng Zamboanga sa 2012 POC-PSC National Games dito kahapon.

Bumuhat ang 20-anyos na si Garcia ng tatlong gintong medalya sa men’s open, second at juniors division sa weightlifting event.

Kasabay nito ay winasak rin ni Garcia ang siyam na national records sa open, secondary at juniors division matapos magposte ng 114kg sa snatch, 153kg sa clean and jerk para sa kabuuang 267kg na sumira sa mga national records sa open (113-140-253), secondary (105-118-213) at juniors (105-130-230).

Kabuuang 30 national marks sa weightlifting ang nasira sa weightlifting, kasama na ang mga itinala nina Olympian Hidilyn Diaz (women’s open 58kg), Ellen Rose Perez (secon­dary 48kg), Lea Ruth Llena (secondary 52kg), Maybelyn Pablo (open 62kg), Angelica Lado (open 64kg).

Binigo naman ni Angana, gold medal winner sa 2009 at 2011 SEA Games at kumampanya sa Asian Games at Asian Wrestling Championship, si Noel No­rada ng Quezon City para kunin ang ginto, habang tinalo ni Balabal si Ismael Trazona ng Mandaluyong City sa 84kg class.

Ang iba pang nagwagi sa kani-kanilang events ay sina Joseph Angana (60kg), Vince Anthony Sumaque (48kg), Joshua Gayuchan (50kg), Razel Inyong (52kg), Orville Degyawi (57kg), Roxel Jandog (66kg), Michael Baletin (74kg), Ro­bertson Torres (96kg) at Abril John Castellano (120kg).

Sa billiards, tumumbok ng ginto sina Luis Saberdo at Zemonette Oryan sa men’s at women’s 9-ball event, ayon sa pagkakasunod.
