Sariling marka binasag ni Sermona

DUMAGUETE CITY--Matapos ang kanyang asawang si Julius, kumuha naman ng gintong medalya si Loralie Amahit-Sermona sa women’s hammer throw event sa track and field competition sa POC-PSC National Games dito sa Perdices Sports Complex.

Ngunit hindi basta pa­nalo ang kinuha ng 30-an­yos na si Amahit-Sermona.

Binasag niya ang luma niyang national record na 49.79-meter sa 2007 Southeast Asian Games sa Thailand para sa bago niyang 50.03m at angkinin ang gintong medalya.

“Kaya ako naglaro dito sa National Games para mag-break ng sarili kong record,” sabi ni Amahit-Sermona, nag-uwi ng bronze medal sa 2007 SEA Games, na dating naglalaro sa shot put at discus event bago lumipat sa hammer throw noong 2002.  

Nauna nang sinikwat ng asawa niyang si Sermona ang gold medal sa men’s 10,000m run noong Lunes.

Umagaw naman ng eksena ang 21-anyos na si Katherine Santos matapos kumuha ng dalawang ginto sa women’s triple jump at 100m dash sa event na inorganisa ng Philippine Olympic Committee at Philippine Sports Commission at suportado ng Smart Communications, Summit Mineral Water, Standard Insurance, TV5, AKTV, 2Go, Ayala Corp., Cebu Pacific, Accel, Pocari Sweat, Scratch It Go for Gold, SM Investments, Philippine Star at Puregold Price Club.
