2 Russian hitters ipaparada ng Vietnam

MANILA, Philippines - Hahataw ang V-League Southeast Asian Club Invitational sa Oktubre 27 sa The Arena sa San Juan na tatampukan ng mga ko­ponan ng Vietnam at Malaysia kasama ang mga top local teams na Philippine Army at Ateneo.

Magpaparada ng dalawang Russian hitters, inaasahang magiging pabori­to sa nasabing four-team tournament ang Vietnam.

Hindi rin magpapadaig ang Army na nagkampeon sa nakaraang Shakey’s V-League Open sa torneong itinataguyod ng Shakey’s Pizza.

“This tournament will somehow gauge the progress of Phl women’s volley which we’ve been helping to develop through the staging of the Shakey’s V-League,” sabi ni Moying Martelino ng nag-oorganisang Sports Vision.

Ang four-day event, su­portado rin ng Mikasa (official volleyball) at Accel (official outfitter), ang titiyak sa mga maaksyong laro, lalo na mula sa Vietnam na silver medalist sa nakaraang limang edisyong ng Southeast Asian Games.

Ang Vietnam ay kakatawanin ng Vietsovpetro squad na magbabandera kina Russian six-footers Trernai Anactaxi at Martynova Ekoterina, habang ilalaban ng Malaysia ang kanilang tropang isasabak sa 2011 SEA Games sa Indonesia sa Nobyembre.

Muling aasahan ng Lady Troopers ang magkapatid na Michelle at Marietta Carolino, Mary Jean Balse, Joanne Buñag, Cristina Salak, Theresa Iratay, Jen Reyes at Rachel Ann Daquis.
