RP cue artists nanalasa agad sa US Open

MANILA, Philippines - Ipinakita agad nina Efren “Bata” Reyes, Jose “Amang” Parica at War­ren “Warrior” Kiamco ang kani-kanilang determinasyong maiuwi ang korona makaraang sumargo ng panalo sa kanilang mga katunggali sa pagpapatuloy ng 35th Annual US Open 9-Ball Championship na gi­naganap sa Chesapea­ke Conference Center sa Chesapeake,Virginia, USA, kahapon.

Pinataob ng dating World 9-ball at 8-ball champion na si Reyes ang mga kalabang sina Nick Tafoya 11-3 at Ben Judge 11-7, ha­­bang gumawa rin ng eksena si Parica, nang kanyang igupo sina Jason Johann 11-4 at Dave Bollman 11-8.

Pinarisan rin ni Kiamco ang tagumpay nina Reyes at Parica ng kanyang talunin sina Richard Burns 11-2 at Chris Bartram, 11-7, ayon sa pagkakasunod.

Sunod na makakalaban ni Reyes, ang 2010 Vigo Spain champion at 2010 International Predator 10-ball ang mananalo sa pagitan nina Roman Hybler at Tomoo Takano, at sasagupain naman ni Parica ang ma­ngi­ngibaw kina ex-World 9-ball ruler Daryl Peach at Gerda Hofstatter.

Umiskor rin ng panalo si Francisco ‘Django’ Bus­tamante kay Shawn Putnman, 11-9; pinayuko ni Ronnie Alcano si Justin Hall, 11-6, pinisak ni Alex Pagulayan si Levi Meiller, 11-6 at tinalo ni Lee Van Corteza si Alexander Fitzgerald, 11-5.

Nadiskaril naman si Dennis Orcollo, Antonio Li­ning, Jundel Mazon at Ro­berto Gomez.
