'Big Three' ng Celtics nanamlay sa krusyal na minuto ng laban

LOS ANGELES - Wala nang nailabas pa ang mga beterano ng Boston Celtics nang mauwi sa krusyal na bahagi ang NBA finals.

Halos maabot na ng Celtics ang kanilang rekord na pang 18th championship kundi lamang nakabangon ang Los Angeles Lakers sa likod nina Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol at Ron Artest sa fourth quarter patungo sa kanilang paghahari sa NBA Finals.

“You know, it’s the first time all year that you can actually say at the end of the day we were old at the end of the game because we didn’t have enough bodies,” wika ni Celtics coach Doc Rivers. “I thought it hurt us.”

Naupo ang Celtics bi­lang No. 4 seed sa Eastern Conference at binalewala na makakapasok sa NBA Finals.

Sa Game 7, tumipa si Ray Allen ng masamang 3-for-14 fieldgoal shooting, habang may 5-of-15 si Paul Pierce at may 3 rebounds lamang si Kevin Garnett bilang “Big Three” ng Boston.

Halos umupo na sa pagod sina Pierce at Garnett sa fourth quarter na siyang sinamantala ng Lakers.

“He was just trying to fi­gure out a way to stay on the floor,” sabi ni Rivers sa pagbabad rin niya sa 35-anyos na si Rasheed Wallace para sa trabahong naiwan ni starting center Kendrick Perkins na nagkaroon ng knee injury sa Game 6.
