Diamond Belt ibibigay ni Sulaiman sa Mosley-Mayweather fight

MANILA, Philippines - Ngayon, hindi lamang si Manny Pacquiao ang magkakaroon ng Diamond Belt ng World Bo­xing Council (WBC).

Matapos malaman na hindi maitataya ni Su­gar Shane Mosley ang kanyang suot na World Boxing Association (WBA) welterweight title sa kanilang upakan ni Floyd Mayweather, Jr., inialok kahapon ni WBC president Jose Sulaiman ang pagbibigay niya ng WBC Diamond Belt sa sinumang mananalo kina Mosley at Mayweather.

“In history, there has been only one world cham­pion who has won the WBC Diamond Belt, the idol of the Philippines and the world Manny Pacquiao,” wika ni Sulaiman.

Nakuha ng Filipino world-seven division champion ang naturang WBC Diamond Belt nang talunin si Miguel Cotto at agawin sa Puerto Rican ang hawak nitong World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight crown noong Nobyembre.

Nakatakda namang mag­banggaan sina Mosley (46-5, 39 KO) at Mayweather (40-0, 25 KO) sa Mayo 1 sa MGM Grand sa Las Vegas, Nevada.

“The winner of Mayweather vs Mosley also deserves to be crowned as WBC Diamond world champion,” dagdag ni Sulaiman, handa ring ibigay ang WBC Diamond Belt sa locker room ng mana­nalo kina Mosley at Mayweather kung hindi siya papayagang umakyat sa boxing ring.

Samantala, pinalagan naman ni Mayweather ang naunang pahayag ni Bob Arum ng Top Rank Promotions na hindi niya ka­yang magpasok ng ma­laking benta sa kanyang mga laban.

“Bob Arum always says that I can’t draw flies and he says that black fighters can’t do numbers, and that’s something that he’s been saying forever, but the thing is, he’s always trying to get his fighters to fight me,” ani Mayweather sa dati niyang promoter.

Naniniwala pa rin si “Pretty Boy” na siya pa rin ang ‘pound-for-pound’ best boxer sa buong mundo at hindi si Pacquiao.

“Every boxer’s goal is to fight Floyd Mayweather, no matter what happens. I mean, with Dela Hoya, he got his biggest payday fighting Floyd Mayweather,” ani Mayweather. “Shane Mosley’s getting his biggest payday fighting Floyd Mayweather, and the list goes on and on.”
