'Bakbakan sa Maynila' itatanghal

MANILA, Philippines - Inimbitahan ni Mayor Alfredo Lim ng Manila ang lahat ng boxing fans na maging bahagi ng makasaysayang boxing show sa San Andres Gym kung saan ang dalawang bakanteng World Boxing Council (WBC) International titles ay itataya sa main event sa Sept. 12.

Naniniwala si Lim na magi-ging mahusay ang mga Pinoy sa boxing kaya sinusuportahan niya ang kampanya ng apat na batang Filipino fighters sa prestihiyosong titulo.

 “We encourage and invite men and women boxing fans to join us in our program in sports development, you may come at the gym for free admission,” ani Lim.

Ang tinaguriang “Bakbakan sa Maynila”, itatanghal ni Lim kasama si Gabriel “Bebot” Elorde Jr. ng Elorde International Productions at American living legend Don King ng Don King Productions ang event kung saan si Vincent “Popeye” Palicte ng Bago City (9-1-1, 5 KOs) ay sasabak kay Bohol-native Carlo Magale (12-4-2, 6 KOs) para sa bakanteng WBC International bantamweight title.

Sa tampok na laban, ha-ngad ni dating kampeon Balweg “Davao Hitman” Bangoyan (14-0, 7 KOs) ng Davao del Sur na maidepensa ang kanyang WBC International super bantamweight belt laban sa mapanganib na si Raymond “Foreman” Sermona (12-1-3, 7 KOs) ng Himamaylan City .

Hinubaran ng WBC si Ba-ngoyan ng titulo na nakuha niya noong October sa Davao City laban kay Kenyan Sande Otieno nang hindi niya naidepensa ang titulo.

“The WBC gives Bangoyan another chance to reclaim his title because his failure of making a title defense due to several postponement of his fight. It’s beyond his control,” ani Elorde, may hawak ng record bilang tanging promoter na nagtanghal ng tatlong WBC International title bouts sa isang boxing show noong kaagahan ng 2000 kung saan siya ang nag- promote sa laban ni Manny Pacquiao sa parehong titulo na paglalabanan nina Bangoyan at Sermona.
