Aguilar posibleng makasama ng RP-5

VICTORIAS, Negros Occidental, Philippines -- Malamang na makasama na si Japeth Aguilar sa RP team sa kaagahan ng Hunyo o bago sumabak ang Nationals sa SEABA championships sa Medan, Indonesia dahil matatapos na ang US-based Pinoy player sa kanyang pag-aaral sa West Kentucky U sa kalagitnaan ng Mayo.

Ito ang ipinahayag ni RP team coach Yeng Guiao, na nagsabi din na hinahanda na ng Powerade, chief backer ng Nationals ang financial package para kay Aguilar.

“Powerade has agreed to prepare something for Japeth. He needs it because unlike the other players, he doesn’t have a contract with any PBA team. He doesn’t have anything, like house and car services, when he comes here,” ani Guiao.

“They have a house in the province (Pampanga). Of course, he can’t stay there when he’s training with us,” dagdag ni Guiao.

Nangako si Aguilar kay Guiao habang pinupursige ito ni SBP executive director Noli Eala na sumama sa SBP developmental pool sa ilalim ni Serbian coach Rajko Toroman.

Isa pang oportunidad ang pinag-aaralan ni Aguilar at ito ay ang imbitasyong maglaro sa Europe, ayon kay Guiao.

Samantala, malugod na tinanggap ni PBA commissioner Sonny Barrios ang pangako nina All-Star coach Chot Reyes at Tim Cone na bibigyan nila ng matinding hamon ang RP team sa Motolite PBA All-Star three-game series upang matulungan ito sa kanilang pagpapalakas para sa nalalapit na world qualifier.
