Milo National Open trackfest sa Pangasinan

MANILA, Philippines - Sisiguruhin ng probinsiya ng Pangasinan ang matagumpay na pagdaraos ng Milo National Open track and field championships sa Mayo 10-13 na gaganapin sa Narciso Ramos Sports Complex sa Lingayen.

Ngayon pa lamang, ginarantiya na nina Dagupan Mayor at Philippine Track and Field Association chairman Alipio Fernandez at Pangasinan provincial administrator Raffy Baraan ang tagumpay ng naturang palaro.

“We are all excited with this undertaking, especially the province of Pangasinan under Gov. Amado Espino,” patungkol ni Fernandez sa gobernador, na dating congressman at PNP regional director.

Sinabi naman ni PATAFA president Go Teng Kok na nagpadala na sila ng imbitasyon sa ibang bansa tulad ng Korea, Hong Kong, Chinese Taipei, Sri Lanka at maging ang Russia.

Ang naturang event, na tatampukan ng 43 events maliban sa marathon ay magsisilbing tune-up para sa paghahanda ng Pinoy track and field bet para sa Laos Southeast Asian Games sa Disyembre.

Sinabi ni Go na magpapadala sila ng 22 athletes sa Laos at umaasa itong magwawagi sila ng walong gintong medalya para pagandahin ang kanilang 2007 performance na limang gold , 7 silver at 9 na bronze.

“We expect more than a thousand athletes, and the foreigners whom we have invited are excited to go to Pangasinan. We hope that the Russians, not necessarily their top athletes, could come,” ani Go.
