De La Hoya-Pacquiao posible nga ba?

Habang lumalaban si six-time world boxing champion Oscar Dela Hoya ay patuloy pa rin ang usap-usapan hing-gil sa posibleng pakiki-pagharap niya kay Filipino boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao.

Ayon kay Eric Gomez, vice-president at matchmaker ng Gold-en Boy Promotions ni Dela Hoya, maaari itong mangyari sa hinaha-rap.   

 “I would welcome it,” wika kahapon ni Go-mez.  “I mean, Oscar is so much bigger. I wish Oscar had all his fights against 130-pounders. First of all, because he’s my friend and he’s like my brother. And secondly, because it’s a mismatch. If they’re really serious about it, I don’t see why it can’t happen.”

Si Dela Hoya ay isang light welterweight fighter, samantalang isa namang super featherweight boxer si Pac-quiao.

Ang posibleng Dela Hoya-Pacquiao fight, ayon kay Gomez, ay tiyak na magdudulot ng kasabikan sa mga boxing fans sa buong mun-do bunga na rin ng mag-kaibang istilo ng dala-wang boxing superstar.

“They’re two big stars. Both of them bring a different kind of crowd and atmosphere to a show. I’m sure it would be interesting and a lot of people would want to see that,” wika ni Gomez.

Idinagdag ni Gomez na wala pa ring linaw kung matutuloy ang laban ni Dela Hoya, gustong maplantsa ang kanilang rematch ni Floyd Mayweather, Jr. sa Setyembre, kay Steve Forbes sa Mayo 3.

Samantala, ililista naman sa undercard ng rematch nina Pacquiao at Mexican super featherweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez sa Marso 15 sina da-ting WBC International flyweight champion Diosdado Gabi, WBO Asia-Pacific Youth at Oriental super bantamweight champion Ciso Morales at baguhang si Ernel Fontanilla.  (Russell Cadayona)
