Laguna ‘di natinag sa unahan

NAGA City -- Namintina ng Laguna ang overall lead  matapos umani ng 26-golds sa swimming sa Bicol Southern Tagalog Qualifying Games ng 2nd Philippine Olympic Festival sa Metro Naga Sports Complex.

Nanguna ang mga tankers na sina Marvie Borja at Joshua Desamero sa pagkopo ng tig-6 na ginto.

Nanalo ang 17-anyos na si Borja sa 50m, 100m, 200m at 800m freestyle, 200m butterfly at 400m individual medley 15-and-above girls habang namayagpag si Desamero, 14-anyos, sa 200m at 400m IM, 50m, 100m at 1500m freestyle at 200m backstroke.

Nanalo din ang Laguna ng tig-14 golds sa arnis at taekwondo at walo pa sa gymnastics  para sa kabuuang 98 golds, 71 silvers at 40 bronzes sa event na suportado ni Naga City Mayor Jessie Robredo, Globe, Philippine STAR, Villa Caceres, Philtranco, Accel, Asia Brewery, Negros Navigation, AMA Computer College at Creativity Lounge.

Ang Cavite na nasa unahan sa unang tatlong araw ng kompetisyon ay pumapangalawa pa rin sa inaning 82-gold, 52-silver at 37-bronze medal kasunod ang host Naga na may 64-71-81 gold, silver-bronze. (Joey Villar)
