RP Open malaking tulong sa local badminton
Malaking tulong ang magagawa ng pagtatanghal ng Bingo Bonanza Philippine Open Badminton championships sa July 18-22 sa PhilsSports Arena sa larangan ng lumalagong badminton sa ating bansa.
Ayon kay Philippine Badminton Association vice-president Edgar Aglipay, ang pagtatanghal ng world-caliber meet na tulad ng RP Open, na tinatampukan ng mga de-kalibreng players sa mundo ang, magbibigay ng malakas na impact sa mga Pinoy at maging sa sports mismo.
“This event will further boost the development of badminton in our country and take it to a higher level,” ani Aglipay, na chairman din ng RP Open organizing committee. “Our national players will take this opportunity to showcase their skills as they go against tougher and world-class players.”
Lima sa world’s top 10 players ang sasabak sa aksiyon sa men’s singles sa pamumuno ni No. 2 Chen Hong ng China, No. 3 Lee Chong Wei ng Malaysia, No. 6 Bao Chunlai ng China, No. 8 Kenneth Jonassen ng Denmark at No. 9 Taufik Hidayat ng Indonesia, ang reigning Olympic at Asian Games champion.
Babanderahan naman ni world No. 2 Xu Huaiwen ng German at No. 6 Pi Hongyan ng France ang ladies singles, habang sina world No. 2 pair Koo Kien Keat at Tan Boon Heong ng Malaysia at No. 6 tandem nina Candra Wijaya at Tony Gunawan ang teams to beat sa men’s doubles.
Ang iba pang world ranked teams na kasali ay sina No. 4 Chien Yu Chin at Cheng Wen Hsing ng Taiwan sa women’s doubles at No. 4 pair nina Nova Widianto at Lilyana Natsir ng Indonesia sa mixed doubles.
Ang RP Open, na isang Grand Slam Gold event na suportado ng Snickers, Solar Sports (official broadcaster), Holiday Inn Galleria Manila at The Richmonde (official hotels) at Victor, exclusively distributed by Pcome Industrial Sales, Inc. ay ginaganap sa ilalim ng pamamalakad ng Philippine Badminton Association.
