Walk-out ng Red Bull kinondena, papatawan ng multa

Mariing kinondena kahapon ni PBA Commissioner Noli Eala ang ginawang pagwo-walkout ng Red Bull sa second period sa Game 6 ng kanilang semifinal series ng San Miguel Beer sa 2006 Gran Matador Brandy PBA Philippine Cup noong Linggo.

Sinabi ni Eala na lantarang nilabag ng mga Bulls ang alituntunin ng professional league sa pagbibigay ng magandang laro.

"As far as I’m concerned, this is not something that we play around with. You just cannot decide that one minute that you don’t want to play because you’re not getting the right calls," ani Eala.

Nakatakdang ibaba ngayong araw ng PBA Commissioner’s Office ang laki ng multang ipapataw sa nasabing aksyon ng Red Bull ni coach Yeng Guiao.

Noong 1990 First Conference, pinagmulta ang Anejo Rhum ni Sen. Robert Jaworski ng P550,000 dahil sa pag-abandona sa Game 6 ng kanilang championship series ng Shell.

"I think talking about specifics on how much teams should be fined, is really secondary already. What we want to prevent is the fact that this can set a precedent in the future," sabi ng Commissioner.

Lumabas ang mga Bulls sa huling 2:06 pa ng second quarter kung saan angat ang Beermen, 41-32, patungo sa 106-82 panalo ng huli na nagtabla sa kanilang best-of-seven semis series sa 2-2.

"Walking out of a game is definitely not one of the options that they can take," dagdag ni Eala. "Definitely, this is something that we will not allow to be a trend." (Russell Cadayona)
