Mayol, may maganda pang kinabukasan

Nagpahayag ng malaking pag-asa at maningning na kinabukasan para kay Rodel Mayol si Games and Amusement Board (GAB) Chairman Eric R. Buhain.

Ipinaliwanag ni Buhain na malamang ay ‘suwerte’ pa ang natamong kabiguan ni Mayol kamakailan kay World Boxing Council minimumweight champion Eagle Kyowa.

"I believe Rodel (Mayol) will bounce back hard from his first-ever loss," ani Buhain. "I know he will come out an even better fighter out of this learning experience in the very near future."

Ayon pa kay Buhain, bago ang naturang laban ni Mayol kay Kyowa, nahirapan ang batang Pinoy boxer na makakuha ng laban sa ibang world title holder dahil sa imakulada niyang record na 22 wins na may 17 knock-outs.

Natalo si Mayol kay Kyowa noong Mayo 6 sa Japan sa pamamagitan ng unanimous decision.

Ayon pa kay Buhain, na ang natatanging kabiguan ni Mayol ay nagbukas ng pinto para sa Pinoy na makalaban ang pinakamagagaling sa kanyang division at maging ng iba pang world title holders. Nakatuon ang pansin ni Mayol sa bakanteng Orient Pacific Boxing Federation (OPBF) minimum straw weight crown sa October.
