Pinoy 4x100M team naka-silver

KAOHSIUNG, Taiwan--Nakuntento lamang ang Philippines’ 4-x100 meter men’s relay team sa pagsubi ng silver medal, pero nabigyan naman sila ng konso-lasyon ng magtala ng bagong national record sa pag-bubukas ng 2005 Chinese Taipei International Athletic Meer nitong weekend sa Kaohsiung County Stadium dito.

Nasa kanilang ikalawang international meet sapul ng unang makipagtambalan sa 2003 Vietnam South-east Asian Games, nagtala ang apat na miyembro ng koponan na sina Alex Gabito, Ralph Waldy Soguilon, Henry Dagmil at Arnold Villarube ng oras na 40.63 segundo upang burahin ang dating Philippine mark na 40.77 na inirehistro ng quartet nina Jimar Aing, Soguilon, Dagmil at Villarube sa 2nd Asian Grand Prix Championship dalawang taon na ang nakaka-raan.

Subalit ang kanilang tsansa ay nabigong makuha ang ginto na pinagwagian ng Chinese Taipei Deve-loping Team sa oras na 40.39 segundo.

Nakuntento naman ang National College for Physical Education and Sports of Taiwan sa bronze medal sa oras na 41.26 seconds.

Ang paglahok na ito ng eight-man RP Team sa naturang meet ay tinustusan ng Philippine Amuse-ment and Gaming Corp. (PAGCOR) at San Miguel Corp. (SMC).
