P92-M pondo ire-release na

Inaprobahan na ng First Gentleman Foundation ang pagre-release na P92 million na nagbigay-daan sa mga atletang Pinoy na magsimula na ng kanilang intensibong pagsasanay para sa nalalapit na Southeast Asian Games.

Bahagi ng halagang ito, parte ng P160 milyon na nalikom sa ilalim ng Medalyang Ginto Project ng Foundation at nakalaan sa walong sports, ayon kay Tessa Mangahas, executive director for Sports ng FG Foundation.

Ang athletics ay tatanggap ng P3.7M at P1.9M sa boxing galing sa kanilang ‘godfather’ na San Corporation.

Ayon kay Mangahas, na dumalo sa SCOOP sa Kamayan, nakatakda na ring i-release ng Lucio Tan Group of Companies ang P1.4m para sa partisipasyon ng National shoot-ing team sa nalalapit na International Practical Shooting Federation World Cup.

Ang iba pang sports association na tumanggap ng ilang bahagi ng pondo ay ang archery, P556,000, mula din sa SMC; sepak takraw, P391,000 mula kay Reynaldo David; cycling, P300,000 mula sa PAGCOR; lawn tennis, P993,000 mula sa Globe Telecom; muay thai, P450,000; at pencak silat, P600,000.

"All these sports represent those which have submitted their training program and passed through the scrutiny of the four-man screening committee, which the Foundation, in turn, endorsed to their respective godfathers," paliwanag ni Mangahas.
