3 Asian Games at Olympian kasali

Tatlong Asian Games medalists at Olympian ang kabilang sa mga matitikas na dapat bantayan sa Sharp Fencing Championships at Asia/Oceania Olympic qualifing competitions na magbubukas sa Lunes, Abril 19 sa PhilSports Arena sa Pasig City.
Inaasahang ibubuhos nina Busan Asian Games gold medalist Alexander Axenov ng Kazakhstan at Sydney Olympian Joanna Halls ng Australia kasama sina Asian Games bronze winners na sina Akihisha Mochida at Chieko Sugawara ng Japan sa isang linggong event na ito na inorganisa ng Philippine Amateur Fencer Association (PAFA) at hatid ng Sharp Phils., Inc.
Ilang gold medalists rin ng nakaraang 2003 Southeast Asian Games na kinabibilangan ng pambato ng Philippines na sina Walbert Mendoza, Rolando Canlas Jr., Emerson Segui, Wilfredo Vizcayno Jr., at Avelino Victorino Jr., ang magpapakita ng aksiyon kasama ang mga individual epee champion na sina Siriroj Rathprasert ng Thailand at mens at womens sabre team winners mula sa Vietnanm.
Umabot sa 22 bansa ang maglalaban-laban sa naturang event na suportado ng Department of Tourism, POC, PSC, PCSO, National Sports Grill, Philippine Star, IMG, DZSR Sports Radio at Holiday Inn Galleria.
Itoy ang Uzbekistan, Australia, Brunei, China, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Kuwait, Kyrgystan, Macau, New Zealand, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam at Philippines.
Walong slots ang na-kataya sa Olympic qualifying tourney at umaasa si POC at PAFA president Celso Dayrit na isa o dalawang Filipinos ang makakaentra sa Athens Games.
"Our fencers rank number one in Southeast Asia today. Their success in the last SEA Games has boosted their confidence and enthusiasm," ani pa ni Dayrit.
