Palaro hindi na itutuloy

Inihayag kahapon ni Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) Chairman Eric Buhain na tuluyan ng ipagpaliban ang Palarong Pambansa sa Tubod, Lanao del Norte.
Sa kabila ng pagseguro ng Armed Forces of the Philippines at ng Philippine National Police sa kaligtasan ng mga kalahok sa Palaro at pagbibigay ng go-signal sa Tubod na isagawa na ang nasabing games, ipinahayag pa rin ni Buhain ang pagpapaliban dito.
"I respect the declaration of the AFP and the PNP about the peace and order in and around Tubod, but after consultations with majority of the stakeholders in sports, we deemed it prudent not to hold the Palaro at this time when there are conflicts in other areas, however far they are from Tubod," ani Buhain.
"The PSC is also thankful for President Arroyos concern and support for the Palaro and her wanting desire to hold the Games in Tubod, which is close to her heart. The AFP and the PNP also did an excellent job in securing the venue and other stakeholders before we decided on the postponement," dagdag pa ni Buhain.
Sa meeting ng legislative and Executive Development Administrative Council (PEDAC) na pinagasiwaan ni Pangulong Arroyo noong Miyerkules, nagbigay si AFP Chief of Staff Narciso Abaya ng kasi-guruhan na trouble-free ang Palaro sa Pangulong Arroyo na nagbigay na ng go-signal sa PSC at sa host Lanao del Norte Gov. Imelda Dimaporo at asawa nitong si Cong. Bobby Dimaporo na idaos na ang naturang Palaro sa Mayo 18-25.
