PSC, DOF at iba pang government agency nagkasundo sa pagpapatupad ng 3% tax

Matapos ang ilang buwang pagmimiting, Ang Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) at Department of Finance (DOF) at iba pang concerned government agencies ay nagkasundo sa paraan ng implimentasyon ng tatlong porsiyentong tax sa lahat ng imported athletic equipment.

Ang naturang agreement ay alinsunod sa Section 26 ng Republic Act No. 6847 o kilala bilang PSC act nang ipatupad ito noong 1990.

Ayon sa naturang section, ang mga pondo mula sa PAGCOR, PCSO at ang 3% tax sa mga imported sports equipment ay gagamitin para suportahan ang integrated sports development program ng bansa.

"The remittance of taxes on sports equipment is the last piece in the full and proper implementation of Section 26, ensuring the Commission additional sources of funds for its various projects and programs," ani Commissioner Michael Barredo ng PSC.

Na-finalize na si Barredo ay nakikipagtulungan kina James Roldan Director for Revenue Operations para sa DOF, ang detalye ng draft ng Joint Circular ukol sa naturang implimen-tasyon.

Ang signing ng Joint Circular sa pagitan nina PSC Chairman Eric Buhain, DOF Secretary Jose Isidro Camacho at Department of Budget at Management Secretary Emilia Boncodin ay inaasahang gaganapin ito ngayong Pebrero.
