PCNC invited to international forum

MANILA, Philippines - The Humanitarian Accountability Partnership, an international body established in 1993 to self-regulate accountability and management of the humanitarian sector, convenes the 30th InterAction Forum 2014 in Washington from June 10 to 13.

The forum brings together renowned speakers and international participants to discuss, exchange expertise, interact and network with one another on various social issues affecting global movements, international developments and the role of nongovernment organizations in advancing social justice and humanitarian aids and programs.

Despite the recent scandals and controversies surrounding the Philippine legislators’ misuse of their Priority Development Assistance Fund, the Philippines is still internationally recognized for the active role its NGOs play in humanitarian and social development programs.

The Philippine Council for NGO Certification is invited to a panel on the accreditation process as a necessary tool for greater accountability and quality management. PCNC is an NGO agency that zealously certifies NGOs and gives them a seal of good housekeeping upon fulfillment of the stringent requirements and guidelines for good governance, transparency, accountability and sustainability.

Teresita Ang See, PCNC vice chair, will be a panel speaker in one of the workshop sessions. PCNC is the only Filipino group invited to speak at the forum. Last year, PCNC executive director Luis Morales spoke at the forum in Bangkok.
