Catholic schools back June 28 Trillion Peso March

MANILA, Philippines — The Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP) has expressed support for the big rally at the EDSA People Power Monument this Sunday, a continuation of the Trillion Peso March.
The CEAP said Wednesday it “wholeheartedly supports the initiative of the Inter-Religious Leaders Council for National Transformation and the White Ribbon Movement in organizing a prayer rally on June 28 at the historic People Power Monument.”
Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines’ InterReligious Leaders’ Council for National Transformation lead convenor and Kidapawan Bishop Colin Bagaforo said the rally will be dubbed the “White Ribbon Movement March.”
“We stand in unity with the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines, leaders of other faith traditions and civil society organizations in a firm stand against systemic corruption, the entrenchment of political dynasties and all forms of election fraud and manipulation. These ills continue to erode the moral foundation of our nation and betray the sacrifices of our forebears who gathered at EDSA,” the CEAP said.
The CEAP asked all its member-schools and institutions to actively participate in the sacred gathering.
“Schools in Metro Manila are encouraged to join the assembly at the EDSA Shrine and the People Power Monument. Those in the provinces are invited to hold simultaneous prayer rallies within their respective campuses. Let us set the nation on fire for spiritual cleansing and renewal,” the CEAP said.?Bagaforo said the rally aims to push for accountability amid the corruption scandal in the country.
“To the youth, this moment is especially for you. You deserve a better Philippines – one shaped by politics with soul and conscience, committed to the genuine common good. May this prayer rally awaken in every heart a renewed commitment to truth, justice and integrity. Together, let us form minds and characters that will transform our beloved country,” the CEAP added.
