Make room with some smart and savvy tips on how to store your CDs and DVDs without damage.
Binders
DVD and CD binders are a classic technique for storage. Depending on the size, it can house over 40 to 100 discs. Don’t worry about crushing your discs because these binders were made to protect. With padded or foamed covers, it mixes function and efficiency for your collection. Another good thing about binders is that they are expandable. Flaps or pages can be bought in bookstores, record stores or office supplies stores. To add convenience to your DVD and CD binders, you can stick tabs on the pages, organizing your collection, depending on the genre. Label the binder properly and store it in a bookshelf or make it your new coffee table book.
Shoe boxes
Got piles and piles of useless shoe boxes in your closet? It’s time to bring them out and use them for a good cause. Step one is to transfer your CDs and DVDs to sleeves. These things can easily be bought in any leading bookstores or office supplies stores. Now that your discs are in a thinner package, you can store them all in a vertical position in your shoebox. To be able to distinguish movies, music and games, you can color code the sleeves––black for movies, gray for music and white for games. If you’re not happy with the design of your shoebox, challenge your creativity and design the shoebox yourself. You might even find yourself enjoying the whole de-cluttering process.
Plastic containers

If you don’t want to remove the discs from their precious cases, get a rectangular bin with wheels, something that will fit your DVDs. Arrange the DVDs in a way that the spine is showing the title to allow more DVDs and CDs to fit. Make sure that your storage bins can easily fit under your center table. With the wheels on it, it will be easier to pull it out of the table, get the DVD you want and store it back under the table––keeping your living room neat and classy.
