The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The Mabuhay Gold, a prestigious annual award from the Association of Human Resources Managers in the Hospitality Industry (AHRM) given to a Filipino hotelier or restaurateur who has greatly contributed to the upliftment of the Philippine hospitality industry, was awarded this year to Marinela Guerrero-Trinidad.

The organization cited her for her contribution in professionalizing the industry and for showing how dedication and passion can build strong and well-loved brands such as Cravings. It also cited her efforts in opening the first professional culinary education institute in the Philippines, the Center for Culinary Arts (CCA, Manila) and the foremost hospitality school in the country, the Asian School for Hospitality Arts (ASHA).

Through her entrepreneurial skills and business acumen, Cravings has expanded into a multi-brand enterprise which now includes The Coffee Beanery, C2 Classic Cuisine, Epicurious, B&P, Wicked, Lombardi’s, among others.

The AHRM was unanimous in its decision to award the Mabuhay Gold to Trinidad, who follows in the footsteps of her mom, Susana Pascual-Guerrero, who was the recipient of the Mabuhay Gold award in 2006.
