PPO 2013 young pianist competition at CCP

MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra (PPO) will hold its 2013 Young Pianist Competition at the Cultural Center of the Philippines on March 6.

The Competition is open to pianists who have not reached the age of 30 by April 19, 2013.  Applicants are required to prepare a piano concerto lasting around 20-30 minutes in length. Suggested works include the concertos of Mozart, Haydn, Grieg, Liszt, and equivalent.

The winner of the competition will have the opportunity to perform with the PPO and conductor Olivier Ochanine on April 19, during closing concert of the Philharmonic season.

Application forms and details are posted on the Cultural Center of the Philippines website at www.culturalcenter.gov.ph. Candidates are asked to print and fill out the application form to be submitted with other required documents on or before Feb. 20, 2013.
