Manila, Philippines - The Gideon’s Flame Christian Film Festival (GFCFF) will kick-off on August 15-20. This week-long event will showcase educational, inspirational and empowering films. The festival’s goal is to honor Jesus Christ by giving recognition to filmmakers whose projects expound on Christian teachings and advance Christian values and integrity through the medium of film, and encouraging amateur filmmakers to do the same. The festival will be a celebration of the artistic gifts of Christian filmmakers not only in the Philippines, but also other parts of the world.
Independent filmmakers, particularly amateurs and youth, are invited to submit films for competition. This year, the competition includes a new class through Project: Gospel Youtube, open to all youth aged 18-25. The entries should be 8- to 10-minute interpretations of any story in the four Gospels. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top two winning entries.
Throughout the festival, the general public will have the opportunity to watch the films submitted this year, as well as film submissions from the previous festivals. This will be a special opportunity to share the Gospel with those who have not yet heard, and together with other Christians rejoice in the goodness and greatness of God and His love for His children.
Submission of entries for the Gospel You Tube is extended to May 31, and for the main event, April 30. For information, email ucmlib@gmail.com.
The Gideon’s Flame Christian Film Festival is organized by the Library Ministry of Union Church of Manila and supported by HeartShaper.
